What is Event?


Event is vast term which can be defined in several ways and in several manner.
Here are two basic context in which we can defined Event as:

In terms of computer:
An event is an occurrence or action detected by a program

Or in other words:

An Event represent precise moment when something happens.

Event can be User Action like mouse click, button press, etc. or system occurrence like running out of memory, etc.

In General Terms:
  •          An event is Something that happens at a given place and time.
  •          A special set of circumstances where people gathered and do some activity.
  •          Or, An event can be described as a public assembly for the purpose of celebration, education, marketing or reunion.


Events can be classified based on their context and purpose like:
  •          Social or life cycle events.
  •          Sport or Entertainment Events.
  •          Educational or career events.
  •          Corporate events.
  •          Religious events.
  •          Cause, charity or Fund raising events.

POS or PoS is an abbreviated form of Point of Sale. The term is applicable to a retail shop or store, the checkout/cashier counter in the store, or a location where such transactions can occur in this type of environment.

How POS transaction captured?
The POS transaction is captured using a variety of devices which include electronic cash register systems, touch-screen display, barcode scanners, receipt printers, scales and pole displays.

Where POS service is applicable?
Point of Sale Systems are utilized in many different industries, ranging from restaurants, hotels & hospitality businesses, nail/beauty salons, casinos, stadiums, and let's not forget - the retail environments.
In the most basic sense, if something can be exchanged for monetary value - a Point of Sale System.

What is MICR?

Magnetic ink character recognition, or MICR, is a character recognition technology used primarily by the banking industry to facilitate the processing and clearance of cheques and other documents.
The MICR encoding, called the MICR line, is located at the bottom of a cheque or other voucher and typically includes the document type indicator, bank code, bank account number, cheque number and the amount, plus some control indicator.
MICR characters are printed in special typefaces with a magnetic ink or toner, usually containing iron oxide.  The technology allows MICR readers to scan and read the information directly into a data collection device.

Unlike barcodes or similar technologies, MICR characters can be easily read by humans. The MICR E-13B font has been adopted as the international standard in ISO 1004:1995.
In India This MICR code is used By RBI (Reserve bank Of India) clearing process to identify the branch and bank for clearing processes.
