Hair Care - Tips for the monsoon

Posted by Labels: at

Although the monsoon brings welcome rains and relief from the summer heat, the thunderstorms that come with the monsoon bring their own hazards. So before the season gets underway, it is a good idea to care for your hair.

Monsoons are not really a friend for your hair. The monsoon brings with it a host of hair care problems like limpness, greasiness and hair fall.

The heightened moisture in the air makes the texture of hair dull, flat and tangled. As a result your tresses can look limp and unattractive.

Some tips to protect your hair during the monsoon are:

Use a mild shampoo and wash your hair regularly

If you need to blow dry your hair, apply a leave-in conditioner prior to drying your hair

Avoid application of styling products, as this could make your hair very greasy due to increased humidity

              Do not tie-up wet hair

Some people are plagued by bad scalp odour due to sweat and oily secretions. For this, add the juice of a lemon and half a cup of rose water to a mug of water and use as a last rinse.

Hair care becomes a difficult and time-consuming job in the monsoon season. But it is also important for healthy hair to stay away from chemicals and outside treatments as much as possible.
